EDITORIAL NOTES

The reasoning behind the cards.

These notes place short directory entries in concrete tasks. They are based on the linked official materials and a consistent comparison method; they do not invent test scores or rankings.

RESEARCH · UPDATED OCTOBER 6, 2026

NotebookLM or Elicit?

When you already have papers or notes, start with a workflow that works from supplied material. When you need to discover and screen literature, start with a literature-search workflow. Even when an answer includes sources, open the paper and check its methods and limitations.

Not suitable: an auto-generated summary is not a completed evidence review. Record unsupported claims and the time needed to correct them.

See sources and checks ↗
CODING · UPDATED OCTOBER 6, 2026

Copilot or Cursor?

Start with the scope of the change: inline suggestions and cross-repository edits create different review work. Use the same failing test and a bounded fix; record changed files, added dependencies, test results, and review time.

Not suitable: do not merge a generated diff before checking side effects and access to sensitive files. Available capabilities vary by plan and environment.

See sources and checks ↗
DESIGN · UPDATED OCTOBER 6, 2026

What makes a poster usable?

A polished concept may still fail delivery requirements. Give candidates the same fictional event title, date, and location; proofread every word; then check mobile readability, export resolution, and current licensing.

Not suitable: do not publish before checking names, third-party likenesses, and copyrighted assets; count the rework after the first draft.
